The move will help attract Muslim tourists visiting the Kingdom, as well as meet local consumption needs.

Chinese-invested NAFIER Industry Co started its production of halal food for the domestic market as the country is gearing up to boost Muslim tourists.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Othsman Hassan, Senior Minister in Charge of Special Missions, on Monday.
According to company sources, the production of halal food using a Chinese-style approach can be consumed by both Muslims and people of other ethnicities.
The production targets the domestic market, especially the Muslim tourists visiting the Kingdom, citing that the company is also looking for exports of the halal food to international markets, Ma Biao, Director of NAFIER Industry Co., Ltd, said.
The decision followed a careful evaluation to meet Cambodia’s longstanding demand for high-quality halal food, strictly adhering to halal regulations and international food safety standards, he said.
Lauding the successful investment, Hassan said that the project represents a calibrated move in attracting foreign investment to produce food locally for export and meet international standards.
“The production of halal food will meet the demands of the Muslim community in Cambodia,” he said.
Hassan also highlighted Cambodia’s harmony among religions and ethnicities, its growing Muslim tourist inflow, and visits by leaders from Arab countries, demonstrating the nation’s readiness to support such projects.
The Senior Minister emphasised the contribution of NAFIER Industry’s halal food production investment to local investment, creating jobs, and contributing to Cambodia’s economic growth.
