Cambodia’s tyre exports surge 72% to $1.5B
Rising export volumes and surging values highlight the growing global recognition of Cambodia’s tyre manufacturing sector.

Cambodia’s tyre exports surged by more than 72 percent in the first eight months of 2026, generating nearly $1.5 billion and underscoring the rapid expansion of the Kingdom’s automotive manufacturing and export sector.
A report from the Ministry of Commerce showed on Sunday that Cambodia exported vehicle tyres worth approximately $1.497 billion from January to August, up 72.14 percent from $870 million recorded during the same period last year.
The United States remained the largest market for Cambodian tyres, followed by Brazil, Canada, France, the UK, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, South Africa and Mexico, according to the report.
The strong export performance comes as Cambodia’s tyre manufacturing industry continues to expand, supported by growing domestic consumption of locally produced rubber and increased foreign investment in automotive-related manufacturing.
Penn Sovicheat, Secretary of State and spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce, said the tyre industry is relatively new to Cambodia but has recorded significant growth, with the Kingdom increasingly integrated into regional and global automotive supply chains.
“The increase in both the quantity of tyres and their value reflects the recognition of Cambodia’s tyre industry in the global market,” Sovicheat told Khmer Times.
The rapid development of tyre manufacturing is also generating stronger demand for Cambodia’s rubber sector. Official figures show that domestic consumption of rubber latex has increased in recent years as more locally produced latex is supplied to tyre manufacturers, while exports of raw rubber latex have declined.
