Higher cargo volumes and increased container throughput across its terminals drive the port’s growth.

Listed Phnom Penh Autonomous Port (PPAP) generated $39.93 million in total revenue during the first eight months of 2026, up 23 percent year on year, according to a report released on Monday.
The growth was driven by increased cargo handling and container throughput across its terminal network.
The port handled 484,176 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) during the period, representing a 23.9 percent increase compared with the same period last year.
The results highlight resilient trade demand and growing export-import volumes passing through Cambodia’s primary international river gateway.
The Ministry of Public Works and Transport remains committed to modernising port infrastructure, strengthening intermodal connectivity and improving logistics competitiveness to support inclusive economic growth under the Pentagonal Strategy.
“The strong operational performance of Phnom Penh Autonomous Port demonstrates the resilience of Cambodia’s trade sector and the success of our national transport strategy,” the ministry spokesman Pham Rim told Khmer Times.
PPAP is expanding its network of feeder and multipurpose river terminals along the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers to promote inland waterway transport and reduce shipping costs. The expansion is also expected to support tourism services and enable exporters to move goods more efficiently.
The efforts are aligned with the Funan Techo Canal project, a major waterway infrastructure development currently under construction that is intended to connect Phnom Penh Autonomous Port with Kep province.
