Cambodia’s exports rise 17.7% in first quarter

The General Department of Customs and Excise reported yesterday that Cambodia exported goods worth $8.09 billion in the first three months of 2026, a 17.7% year-on-year increase.

The United States, Vietnam, Japan, China, and Spain were the top five destinations for Cambodian goods. During the same January to March period, the kingdom recorded total imports of $8.83 billion, a 16.7% increase on the previous year.

Ministry of Commerce Secretary of State and spokesman Penn Sovicheat attributed the growth to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and Cambodia’s bilateral free trade agreements with China, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates.

He said these pacts catalyse sustainable growth by providing preferential tariffs for Cambodian-made products.
