Cambodia to host second cashew and pepper trade forum
The trade convention connects local producers with international buyers to boost agricultural exports, secure foreign investment and strengthen commercial ties with European partners.

Cambodia will host the second cashew and pepper trade forum from November 10 to 12 in Phnom Penh, bringing together 400 producers, exporters, international buyers and investors to strengthen agricultural trade links with global markets.
Held under the theme “Cambodia to the World”, with a focus on trade with Europe, the three-day event aims to turn international dialogue into concrete business partnerships, investment opportunities and expanded export markets for Cambodia’s growing cashew and pepper industries.
The forum is jointly hosted by Cambodia, the European Union (EU) and Germany, building on the inaugural edition held in 2025.
According to the organisers, this year’s event will go beyond discussions to provide practical opportunities for Cambodian businesses to connect with international buyers, improve export readiness and explore investment opportunities.
Participants will take part in structured business-to-business matchmaking with European and international companies seeking sourcing partners, while industry experts share insights into global market trends, buyer expectations and emerging opportunities.
The programme will also feature practical workshops on entering the EU market, sales strategies, post-harvest handling and processing, alongside exhibitions of business solutions in processing technology, certification, logistics, packaging and finance. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit cashew and pepper farms and processing facilities.
Commerce Minister Cham Nimul said the government was committed to strengthening the competitiveness of Cambodia’s cashew and pepper sectors and diversifying their export markets.
“As Cambodia consolidates its standing as a premier global sourcing destination for high-quality cashew, pepper, and agri-food products, the Ministry of Commerce remains resolute in driving the export competitiveness and market diversification of these strategic sectors,” she said.
She said the second edition would focus on translating improved export readiness, compliance with international standards and stronger supply chains into high-value trade and investment partnerships. Nimul highlighted Cambodia’s expanding network of free trade agreements and preferential trade arrangements as important tools for integrating local businesses into global value chains.
“With the steadfast partnership of the European Union and the Federal Republic of Germany, we remain committed to fostering an enabling trade environment and positioning Cambodian products as trusted, sustainable, and competitive choices in the international marketplace,” she added.
EU Ambassador to Cambodia Igor Driesmans said the bloc was proud to support the country’s efforts to strengthen the competitiveness and international visibility of its cashew and pepper industries.
“Through initiatives such as this Forum, Team Europe is helping Cambodian businesses connect with European markets, attract investment, and meet the quality and sustainability standards that create long-term opportunities for trade,” he said.
