Angkor Products Fair 2025 boosts trade, promotes Cambodian goods
To stay competitive in the market, local products must ensure good quality, maintain a regular supply, offer reasonable prices, and strengthen consumer confidence through effective product branding, says Deputy Governor of Siem Reap.

The Angkor Products Fair 2025 (December 5–7) Friday officially kicked off to showcase key local and agricultural products, aiming to promote trade activities and encourage the use of Cambodian-made goods.
The opening ceremony took place under the chairmanship of Ly Sary, Deputy Governor of Siem Reap province. Among others who were present on the occasion were Tan Yuvaroath, Deputy Director-General of the General Directorate of Trade Promotion; and Phoeun Kimly, Director of the Siem Reap Department of Commerce, along with associations, organisations, producers, farmers, and students from various provinces.
Speaking at the event, Sary said that beyond tourism, Siem Reap also has strong potential in agriculture, services, and product processing.
He said that besides agro-industrial products, Siem Reap also produces a variety of mixed crops such as vegetables and fruits. Farmers are now able to supply these products to the market in large quantities, with good quality, attractive presentation, and safety standards. However, demand for safe vegetables and fruits remains high and highly competitive.
“To stay competitive in the market, local products must build strong advantages, ensuring good quality, maintaining a regular supply, offering reasonable prices, and strengthening consumer confidence through effective product branding,” Sary said.
He urged local producers to improve product quality, ensure safety, use hygienic packaging and proper labeling, and follow technical standards and consumer requirements, while maintaining prices that can compete with imported goods.
“All of this requires time and hard work from producers and traders. Equally important is the participation and support of our people in buying Cambodian products, which helps local producers compete and modernize their goods,” Sary emphasised.
Yuvaroath said that the Angkor Products Fair encourages people to produce higher-quality and more diverse products, aligning with the 1st phase of the Royal Government’s Pentagonal Strategy, which aims to strengthen the agro-trade sector, promote local products, and support private sector development.
Giving an overall assessment of the fair, Kimly said that this year’s exhibition brings together more than 100 booths from Siem Reap, Takeo, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Phnom Penh, and other provinces, an increase from last year.
“Most of the products on display this time are from Siem Reap, but we also have products from other provinces. The number of booths has increased compared to last year—there were fewer than 100 booths then, but this year there are more than 100,” said Kimly.
“Consumers’ support is the most important factor,” he said, adding, “As a state institution, we work to promote and support the private sector, but consumers are the real drivers. We also continue to encourage the production of good-quality and diverse local products for the public.”
It may be recalled that in addition to showcasing vegetables, fruits, and processed goods, the Angkor Products Fair 2025 also featured a cooking competition organised with the Cambodian Chefs Association, a flower-folding contest, business meetings, and traditional hand-drum performances.
