Int’l tourists to Cambodia’s Angkor down 3.47 pct in first 11 months of 2025

Cambodia’s famed Angkor Archaeological Park attracted a total of 867,195 international visitors in the first 11 months of 2025, a year-on-year drop of 3.47 percent, said a press release on Monday.

The UNESCO-listed world heritage site made $40.48 million in revenue from ticket sales during the January-November period this year, also down 3.41 percent, said the press release from the state-owned Angkor Enterprise.

In November this year, the park received 101,677 foreign tourists, generating $4.9 million, down 18 percent and 17 percent, respectively, compared to the same month last year, it added.

Situated in northwest Siem Reap province, the park is home to 91 ancient temples built from the ninth to the 13th centuries.

Thourn Sinan, chairman of the Pacific Asia Travel Association Cambodia chapter, said that, given the current geopolitical climate and various crises impacting global travel, a rise in tourist arrivals to the Angkor complex this year was unlikely.

“Unless there are initiatives such as free visas or special incentive packages for destination management companies or travellers, arrivals might remain relatively flat,” he told Xinhua.
