Cambodia-Vietnam Business Forum pushes for investment, trade ties
The forum focuses on provinces in the northwest of Cambodia, which are areas of great potential in agriculture, tourism, services, and domestic trade, and also play an important role in Cambodia’s economic network.

The Consulate General of Vietnam in Battambang province yesterday organised the Cambodia-Vietnam Business Forum 2025 in Siem Reap province to promote investment and trade network expansion to connect businesses in Cambodia’s northwest provinces.
The forum was attended by Tran Tuan Anh, Consul General of Vietnam in Battambang province, Yun Linne, Deputy Governor of Siem Reap province, and businesses from the northwestern provinces and Vietnamese businessmen and investors.
Addressing the forum, Tran Tuan Anh said the Cambodia-Vietnam Business Forum 2025 was an opportunity for stakeholders to have honest conversations, update information accurately, and jointly promote cooperation.
“The forum focuses on provinces in the northwest of Cambodia, which are areas of great potential in agriculture, tourism, services, and domestic trade, and also play an important role in Cambodia’s economic network,” he said.
The Consulate General of Vietnam is pursuing three priorities, including enhancing economic diplomacy for northwest Cambodian companies, connecting administrations and businesses to build new cooperation networks, and focusing on high-growth sectors such as agro-trade, tourism-services, production-processing, and logistics, he said.
“We are committed to working closely with provincial institutions and the Vietnamese Trade Office in Cambodia to effectively support companies and businesses,” he added.
Speaking at the forum, Yun Linne, Deputy Governor of Siem Reap province, described Siem Reap as having the most potential in the tourism sector, which is an important driving force for Cambodia’s economic growth.
“The forum is being held at a time when Cambodia-Vietnam economic, trade and investment relations are growing significantly, with bilateral trade volume increasing steadily,” Linne said.
Vietnam is an important trading partner of Cambodia, and investment opportunities in Cambodia are also growing strongly under the new investment law and a favourable business environment.
Official data from the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia showed that the bilateral trade between Cambodia and Vietnam rose by 2.61 percent to $6.58 billion between January and October of this year.
Of which, Cambodia exported $3.14 billion worth of goods to Vietnam, a year-on-year increase of 6 percent from $2.96 billion in the same period last year.
The Deputy Governor called on all businessmen and investors to seize this rare opportunity to expand business networks, exchange experiences, and reach new partnerships.
The Siem Reap Province Administration and relevant provincial institutions are committed to creating favourable conditions to build and improve the business environment, ensuring the convenience and sustainability of our business operations, he said.
