Cambodia makes $1.5 bln from exports of raw cashew nuts in 2025

Cambodia earned $1.5 billion from the exports of raw cashew nuts in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 30 percent, said a Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC)’s report released on Friday.

The report said that the Southeast Asian country exported a total of 1 million tons of the commodity last year, a significant rise of 27 percent year-on-year.

CAC’s President Uon Silot said almost all the raw cashew nuts were exported to neighbouring Vietnam.

“2025 was a good year for cashew nut farmers, as we had enjoyed a remarkable rise in both export volume and price,” he said.

The annual harvest season of cashew nuts was in March and April, and the price of the commodity was between 1,250 and 1,350 dollars per ton during the harvest season, Silot said.

He added that the peak price of raw cashew nuts was in October when a ton cost about 2,000 dollars.

Cashew is among the country’s potential cash crops in addition to rice, rubber, cassava, palm oil, bananas, mangoes, longans, and pepper.

According to the CAC, the kingdom has currently planted cashew trees on a total area of around 700,000 hectares in some 10 provinces.
