The Cambodia-China Friendship Exchange Forum promotes people-to-people exchange and mutual trust

The Cambodia-China Friendship Exchange Forum was launched to inspire mutual understanding, build trust, and help create an All-Weather Cambodia-China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era.

Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service and Wang Wenbin, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, presided over the official opening ceremony of the forum held on Dec. 15 with participation from Cambodian leaders, private sector leaders, universities, entrepreneurs, researchers, artists, youth, and media from China and Cambodia, totalling about 300 people.

Co-organised by the Youth House for Cambodia-China Friendship and the China Foundation for Peace and Development, with support from the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, the forum, themed “Silk Road Connecting People to People,” is being held from Dec. 14-16, 2025.

This annual forum aims to promote and connect existing cooperation and establish new partnerships between the private sector, universities, research institutions, and organisations/associations.

It is also intended to inspire mutual understanding among people, build mutual trust, and contribute to the joint construction of an All-Weather Cambodia-China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Hun Many highlighted the significance of the Cambodia-China Friendship Exchange Forum 2025 as a key driving force in promoting and strengthening people-to-people relations, particularly cultural exchanges among youth and the exploration of business opportunities between young entrepreneurs of both countries, aiming to contribute to the joint efforts with the Government toward building an All-Weather Cambodia-China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era.

He also emphasised that the enduring Cambodia–China friendship has been continuously nurtured with great care by successive generations of leaders of both countries and further strengthened under the visionary leadership of Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and President XI Jinping, reaffirming unwavering commitment to the ironclad Cambodia–China friendship, the consolidation and deepening of the comprehensive strategic partnership, and win-win cooperation between the two countries.

He reaffirmed the strong commitment of the leaders and all members of the Cambodia–China Youth House for Friendship to contribute to building a China–Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era and to implementing cooperation mechanisms such as the Diamond Cooperation Framework, the Fish and Rice Corridors, and the Industrial and Technological Corridors.
