Cambodia’s digital informal economy platform surpasses 250,000 registrations in first year
In just one year, Cambodia’s Digital Platform for Onboarding the Informal Economy has recorded more than a quarter of a million registrations, marking a major step towards greater inclusion and protection for informal economy workers nationwide, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI) on Sunday.

The platform was officially launched in December last year by Prime Minister Hun Manet as part of the National Strategy for Informal Economy Development 2023–2028.
The initiative aims to integrate informal economy actors into the formal system, giving them improved access to social protection, financial services, and business opportunities.
Designed to be accessible and user-friendly, the platform offers multiple registration options.
Individuals can register through the CAM-IE mobile application, an online web portal, or at designated registration points located at major financial institutions, including Wing Bank, ACLEDA Bank, ABA Bank, SME Bank, and ARDB Bank.
Royal Government officials say the strong registration numbers reflect growing awareness and trust in the system. The platform is expected to play a key role in strengthening economic resilience, improving data-driven policymaking, and supporting sustainable national development.
