CDC reviews progress of Cambodia’s automotive assembly investments

Deputy Prime Minister and Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) First Vice Chairman Sun Chanthol reiterated the government’s commitment to the automotive assembly industry yesterday, aiming to cement the kingdom’s position as a regional manufacturing hub.

Chanthol chaired a high-level meeting at the CDC with senior government officials and executives from major automotive assembly companies to evaluate sector progress under the nation’s industrial diversification strategy.

Manufacturers provided updates on operational performance and expansion plans, while presenting recommendations to enhance the investment climate. Officials discussed public-private solutions to sustain investment momentum and elevate productivity.

Chanthol said the automotive sector is central to transforming Cambodia’s economic structure toward higher value-added manufacturing. He assured executives that the administration remains dedicated to facilitating investments and resolving operational challenges.

Industry leaders welcomed the dialogue, noting that coordinated cooperation is vital for overcoming regulatory hurdles.

Both public and private representatives concluded the session with a shared pledge to strengthen workforce skills and reinforce Cambodia’s competitiveness within regional supply chains.
