Cambodia exports 5,738 tonnes of fresh durian to China

Cambodia exported 5,738 tonnes of fresh durian to China between January and July 2026, bolstered by a new overland trade route through Laos that significantly slashes transport times.

Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries spokesman Khim Finan said the figures reflect a major surge since China approved direct imports in July 2025.

The new overland transit route cuts delivery times to China to just five days, compared with 15 to 20 days by sea, according to the ministry.
