Fuel prices fall as US-Iran truce eases market

Retail fuel prices in Cambodia declined on Tuesday after the United States and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire, the Ministry of Commerce said.

Regular petrol now costs 5,100 riels ($1.28) per litre, a 1.9% decrease from the 5,200 riels ($1.30) seen over the past five days. Diesel fell 7.2% to 6,400 riels ($1.60) per litre, while liquefied petroleum gas remains unchanged at 3,900 riels ($0.97).

Prime Minister Hun Manet said on Saturday that the General Department of Customs and Excise provides about $50 million in monthly subsidies through duty and tax reductions to shield consumers from global price volatility.
