US explores expanded trade ties as Cambodia’s economy grows
The United States is exploring new trade and economic opportunities to strengthen its partnership with Cambodia, US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau said, citing the Kingdom’s rapid socio-economic development.

Landau made the remarks during a meeting with Prime Minister Hun Manet on Thursday afternoon on the sidelines of the inaugural Board of Peace meeting in Washington, D.C. He expressed satisfaction with the progress in bilateral relations and highlighted the potential for deeper trade and economic development cooperation.
During the exchange, Landau thanked the Cambodian government for Air Cambodia’s recent purchase of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft from the United States.
In response, Mr Hun Manet thanked the US for its longstanding assistance, which he said had contributed to Cambodia’s post-war reconstruction and national development. He praised the growing cooperation in trade, national defence and security.
The two leaders also discussed additional measures to tackle transnational crime and enhance cooperation within regional and international frameworks.
