ARDB chief urges farmers to calculate production costs to improve profitability

Agricultural and Rural Development Bank Director-General and Techo Farmers Network Association President Kao Thach has urged farmers in Kampong Thom province to use precise mathematical calculations rather than guesswork to track production costs and boost profitability.

Speaking at a meeting with local farmers yesterday, Thach stressed that accurate accounting is essential to determine whether agricultural operations generate net profits or losses.

Thach outlined key steps for agricultural productivity, including the adoption of high-quality seeds, improved water resource management, timely application of fertilisers and chemicals, and targeted pesticide use to control crop pests.

He encouraged producers to review their daily operational practices and adopt precise cost-management techniques to reduce overheads and maximise harvest returns.
