Ministry of Commerce in bid to resolve agricultural produce market glut

The Ministry of Commerce continues coordinating measures to address the oversupply of agricultural produce caused by delays in market absorption, particularly during the current harvest season.

The effort aims to ensure market stability and protect the interests of farmers.

According to a notice issued on March 13, ministry officials recently worked with private sector partners to facilitate the purchase and sale of various vegetables in Battambang Province. These include crops such as eggplant which were bought at reasonable prices after experiencing market difficulties.

Provincial commerce departments have been coordinating with buyers and producers to help find markets and ease the backlog of agricultural products.
