Agricultural exports surge to $5 billion in landmark year
Cambodia exported 14.9 million tonnes of agricultural products in 2025, a 27.8% year-on-year increase, generating about $5 billion in revenue, according to a ministry report released yesterday.

The figures, published by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, highlight a substantial boom in the rice sector.
Paddy rice exports increased by 48.8% to 6.85 million tonnes, while milled rice shipments reached an all-time high of 940,321 tonnes—a 45.6% rise compared to 2024. Non-rice agricultural products also demonstrated steady growth, rising to 7.11 million tonnes.
Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Minister Dith Tina said that the country’s production and supply chains remain sufficiently resilient to ensure national food security, despite logistical challenges along the Cambodian-Thai border.
“In 2025, crop exports experienced significant growth… despite facing various challenges, the export of agricultural products has continued to expand,” he said.
China and Vietnam remained the main markets for Cambodian produce. Agriculture remains one of the four pillars of the national economy. To further support the sector, the government is adopting a strategic policy to shift from subsistence farming to large-scale commercial operations, aiming to boost farmers’ incomes through high-value processed goods.
