SDF partners with SEZ enterprises to boost skills and industrial productivity
The Skills Development Fund (SDF), in partnership with the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Centre (CJCC) and the Education Development Institute (EDI), has brought together enterprises operating in special economic zones (SEZs) to strengthen workforce skills and improve industrial productivity.

The partners held a “Strategic Promotion and Productivity Enhancement Skills Partnership Dialogue” on September 1 at the Zhejiang Special Economic Zone and Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone, bringing together around 80 participants, including SEZ management, business leaders, human resources managers, and representatives of factories and enterprises.
The workshop aimed to connect SEZ-based businesses with SDF and training institutions to identify opportunities for skills-development support and develop training programmes tailored to enterprises’ actual workforce needs.
The initiative is expected to help businesses strengthen workers’ capabilities, improve labour productivity, and address growing demand for skilled workers across the industrial sector.
As a next step, SDF, together with industry partners and training institutions, will work on project proposals and jointly develop training programmes to build a skilled workforce and strengthen the competitiveness, resilience, and sustainability of regional supply chains.
