Cambodia’s first-half customs revenue rises 4.5%

GDCE Director-General Kun Nhim said that the department has reached 51.6% of its full-year 2026 revenue target.
Mixed consumer goods accounted for 39% of January–June customs revenue. Vehicles and machinery made up 35%, petroleum products 18.5%, and construction materials 7.5%.
Nhim noted a structural shift in collections, explaining that fuel and gas revenue fell after March tariff reductions aimed at mitigating rising global oil prices. This drop was counterbalanced by increased returns from mixed consumer goods, driven by stricter tax compliance and enforcement.
The GDCE handles import and export tariffs, excluding internal taxes such as value-added tax (VAT), profit tax, salary tax, turnover tax, and property tax, which are overseen by the General Department of Taxation (GDT). The GDT has not yet released its H1 revenue figures.
