US firms show confidence in Cambodia’s economic growth

Leading American companies have reaffirmed their confidence in Cambodia’s economic growth and industrial development during a meeting on Tuesday between Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Hem Vanndy and a delegation from the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC).

The delegation, led by USABC President and CEO Ambassador Brian McFeeters (Ret.), visited Cambodia as part of the Council’s 2026 Cambodia Business Mission, bringing together representatives from major US firms operating in the automotive, consumer goods, digital payments, healthcare, energy and technology sectors.

During the meeting, Minister Vanndy highlighted Cambodia’s efforts to strengthen industrial competitiveness through research, innovation and technology adoption, including the establishment of the National Research Foundation, improvements to the National Quality Infrastructure, and policies supporting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

“Cambodia is laying the foundations for research, technology and innovation to become key drivers of our economic transformation. We welcome partnerships with the U.S. private sector that can strengthen our industries and MSMEs,” the minister said.

Ambassador McFeeters said USABC member companies remain optimistic about Cambodia’s long-term growth prospects and investment climate.

“Our member companies represent some of the most innovative and dynamic sectors of the American economy, and they are here because they believe in Cambodia’s growth trajectory and the Royal Government’s commitment to creating a welcoming environment for U.S. investment,” he said.

The discussions covered automotive standards, sustainable packaging and recycling, digital payments, MSME digitalisation, technology transfer and regulatory frameworks.

The USABC delegation included representatives from Ford, SC Johnson, Coca-Cola, Visa, Target, Philip Morris International, Abbott, ConocoPhillips, Mastercard, Roche, IMSG and other member companies.
