Cambodia forecasts rise in air travel, cargo for 2026
Cambodia is projected to receive 8 million air passengers in 2026, an increase from 6.98 million last year, said Mao Havannall, the minister in charge of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA), yesterday.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the SSCA’s two-day annual conference, Havannall said the Southeast Asian country also predicted an increase in air cargo this year to 112,000 tons from 93,889 tons last year.
“Air transportation has played a crucial role in promoting tourism, business, trade, investment, and socio-cultural connectivity,” he said.
Cambodia has three international airports in operation, and 36 international and domestic airlines have operated flights to Cambodia, connecting the kingdom’s air routes with eight fellow ASEAN member states, as well as China, South Korea, Japan, Qatar, India, among others, according to the minister.
