ABBANK launches fundraiser for 100,000 trees for residents in Yên Bái

An Binh Commercial Joint Stock Bank, in collaboration with the Natural Resources and Environment Communication Centre, has launched the Tết An Bình 2025 programme that targets to raise funds to give away 100,000 cinnamon plants and 7,000 kilograms of fertiliser to residents in Pá Lau Commune, Trạm Tâu District, Yên Bái Province.

Kicking off its 16th edition of the "Tết An Bình" campaign, ABBANK launches a fundraising initiative to give away 100,000 cinnamon plants and 7 tonnes of fertiliser to residents in Pá Lau Commune, Trạm Tấu District, Yên Bái Province. — Photo courtesy of ABBANK

As part of the "Xanh An Bình - Xanh Việt Nam" project, the programme positively supports the "One-Billion-Tree Plantation Programme" initiated by the Prime Minister. The number of trees committed this year surpasses the total number of the previous four years combined.

Through the programme, ABBANK aims to collaborate with residents of Pá Lau Commune to rejuvenate forests and farmlands that were devastated by typhoon Yagi last year, and over the long term prevent erosion and landslides and provide sustainable livelihoods for local residents.

To achieve its fundraising goals and spread positive messages about afforestation and forest protection, ABBANK has committed to donating one cinnamon sapling to the "Xanh An Bình – Xanh Việt Nam" fund for every new payment account, savings account, or credit card opened at ABBANK.

Additionally, for every click on "I Participate" on the project’s website (xanhanbinhxanhvietnam.abbank.vn) by customers, the community, or ABBANK staff, the bank will donate one cinnamon sapling for residents of Pá Lau Commune.

The fundraising campaign will run until March 2025 or until the target of 100,000 trees is reached, whichever comes first.

On the occasion, the Tết An Bình 2025 organising committee presented 50 Tết gift packages, including cash and essential goods, to 50 underprivileged households in the Pá Lau Commune.

Cinnamon is a key crop in supporting socio-economic development, hunger eradication and poverty alleviation in the province. The province boasts the largest cinnamon cultivation area and output in the North, with over 81,000 hectares under cinnamon, or one-third of the province's planted forest area.
