Sacombank has given away thousands of gifts worth a total of VNĐ10 billion (US$396,450) to disadvantaged people in Việt Nam and Vietnamese living in Laos and Cambodia under its 22nd “Warm Spring Programme” to help them celebrate the 2025 Lunar New Year.

From January 6 to 19, Sacombank branches and transaction offices across the country organised visits to local communities, charitable organisations and shelters to extend New Year greetings and give gifts along with “lucky money” to disadvantaged children, people with disabilities, seniors living by themselves, and underprivileged families.
They also gave gifts to disadvantaged Vietnamese expatriates living in Laos and Cambodia.
Đào Nguyên Vũ, the lender’s deputy CEO and chairman of its Labour Union, said, besides maintaining effective business operations, the bank has also been implementing meaningful social welfare initiatives.
"Each Tết gift from Sacombank is like a swallow heralding the arrival of spring, bringing warmth to those in need in areas where Sacombank operates.”
Sacombank has spent more than VNĐ104 billion ($4.12 million) for the annual charity programme over the past 22 years.
Additionally, in 2024 it implemented numerous meaningful programmes aimed at supporting the community.
Its 18,000 employees voluntarily contributed at least one day’s salary, adding up to more than VNĐ12.7 billion, to assist people in the North of the country affected by Typhoon Yagi.
The bank also gave more than 4,000 scholarships worth over VNĐ11 billion to underprivileged students across the country.
In response to the "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" emulation movement launched by the Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, Sacombank joined hands with the provinces of Bạc Liêu, Bắc Ninh, Thái Nguyên, Khánh Hòa, and Lâm Đồng to build thousands of houses for disadvantaged families.
It donated over VNĐ100 billion for building schools, cultural houses, bridges, roads, and high-quality public toilets, bringing electricity and clean water to underprivileged areas, providing free eye surgeries to hundreds of cataract patients, and other community activities.
