Cambodia launches overland agricultural exports to China via Laos
Cambodia has launched its first overland agricultural export to China via Laos, a move set to significantly reduce transit times for local produce, according to a Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) official.

MAFF Undersecretary of State and spokesman Khim Finan announced that a shipment of four containers of fresh durians departed Cambodia yesterday, bound for the Chinese market.
“This is a new route for transporting Cambodian agricultural products to China,” Finan said in a video statement. “It has not only shortened our transit time to just one week—down from 15 to 20 days—but has also boosted the competitiveness of Cambodian agricultural products.”
Finan added that the new land route streamlines direct exports of various goods, including rice, durians, yellow bananas, mangoes, coconuts and Pailin longans. The initiative marks a strategic shift in logistics, offering a more efficient alternative to previous transport methods.
