Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026 roadshow expands to central Việt Nam

Samsung Electronics Vietnam, in collaboration with the National Innovation Center (NIC) under the Ministry of Finance, has continued its nationwide Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026 roadshow with a launch event in central Việt Nam aimed at promoting STEM education among students.

The programme has been launched in Đà Nẵng, bringing together representatives from the NIC, the Đà Nẵng Department of Education and Training, Samsung Vietnam, as well as teachers and students from local middle and high schools.

Part of a nationwide roadshow series spanning northern, central and southern regions, the programme seeks to encourage students to apply STEM knowledge – science, technology, engineering and mathematics – to develop solutions for real-world social and community challenges.

This year’s competition focuses on three themes: developing a sustainable environment through technology; combining sports and technology to drive social change in education and future development; and applying technology to build a sustainable society.

Since the national launch in Hà Nội in April, the organising committee has introduced the competition to education authorities and schools in more than 13 provinces and cities nationwide.

More than 20 in-person workshops have also been organised at schools across the country, providing guidance on competition formats, idea development and Design Thinking – a problem-solving methodology that encourages creative and practical innovation.

In addition, Samsung and NIC recently held a large-scale online training session connecting nearly 300 locations nationwide to guide teachers and students on online registration procedures and participation in Design Thinking courses.

Samsung Solve for Tomorrow was first launched globally in the US in 2010 and introduced in Việt Nam in 2019. The annual competition is open to students aged 12 to 18.

This year marks the first collaboration between Samsung Vietnam and the NIC in organising the programme. The partnership is expected to strengthen the country’s STEM ecosystem and support innovation-oriented education and digital transformation initiatives.

Speaking at the event, Noh Seung Woo, head of corporate social responsibility at Samsung Vietnam, described the competition as an 'innovation playground' where students can apply STEM knowledge to solve practical problems.

He noted that students from central Việt Nam, particularly Đà Nẵng, have consistently achieved strong results in previous competitions.

As in previous years, the programme will include separate categories for middle school and high school students. Winning schools will receive support from Samsung, including STEM Lab sponsorships worth US$60,000 for first-prize winners and interactive smartboards for second-prize winners.

The roadshow is expected to continue in southern Việt Nam in the coming months, completing the nationwide launch series for Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026.
