Cambodia’s trade with ASEAN up 10.5% in Q1 of 2026
Cambodia’s trade volume with its fellow ASEAN member states reached $4.86 billion in the first quarter of 2026, a 10.5% year-on-year increase, according to an official report released yesterday.

The kingdom exported products worth $1.6 billion to other ASEAN countries in the January-March period, down 7% year on year.
Meanwhile, total imports amounted to $3.26 billion, up 22%, according to the Ministry of Commerce report. Cambodia’s trade with ASEAN accounted for 27.6% of the kingdom’s total trade volume of $17.58 billion in the first quarter.
The country’s top five trading partners within the bloc were Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. ASEAN comprises Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Timor-Leste.
Cambodia’s primary exports to the region consisted of manufactured goods, including garments, shoes, travel goods, bags, solar panels and car tyres. The kingdom also shipped electronics and a range of agricultural products, including rice, cashew nuts, rubber latex, cassava, durians and bananas.
Thong Mengdavid, deputy director at the China-ASEAN Studies Centre of the Cambodia University of Technology and Science, said the growth in trade reflected regional resilience and geographic advantage. He told Xinhua that Cambodia could leverage ASEAN as a buffer against external shocks, as the kingdom is well connected to the region by land, air and waterways.
