The Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industry Group (Vinacomin) contributed an estimated VNĐ2 trillion (US$79.36 million) to the State budget last month, raising the total for the first seven months of this year to VNĐ16.6 trillion.

This underscores the group’s role as one of the key State-owned enterprises making a significant contribution to the national budget.

It produced 3.24 million tonnes of coal last month, fulfilling 100 per cent of the monthly plan. The cumulative coal output for the first seven months reached 24.1 million tonnes, equivalent to 103.4 per cent year-on-year.

Coal consumption reached 2.86 million tonnes last month, bringing the cumulative figure to 28.43 million tonnes, including 7.72 million tonnes of imported coal and 393,000 tonnes of coal exports, up 64.3 per cent year-on-year.

In the mineral sector, alumina production reached 112,000 tonnes last month, with a seven-month cumulative output of 862,000 tonnes, or 104.2 per cent year-on-year.

Alumina sales stood at 865,000 tonnes, reaching 104.4 per cent of the same period. Copper concentrate output reached 61,600 tonnes, and sales were 20,300 tonnes, both meeting or exceeding planned targets.

Its electricity production reached 788 million kWh last month, and 6.55 billion kWh cumulatively, equivalent to 110 per cent of the same period last year.

The production of industrial explosives and chemicals remained stable, meeting production needs effectively.

The group's total revenue was estimated at VNĐ12.7 trillion last month, bringing cumulative revenue for the first seven months to VNĐ101.4 trillion.

Cumulative profit is estimated at VNĐ4.51 trillion, completing 132.5 per cent of the annual target.

It has set production targets of 2.9 million tonnes of coal this month, 2.94 million tonnes of coal consumption, 120,000 tonnes of alumina, and 651 million kWh of electricity.

The group’s consolidated revenue is projected to reach VNĐ11.5 trillion.
