Central bank branch plans to organize multiple events in Ho Chi Minh City for upcoming Reunification Day

The State Bank of Vietnam's Region 2 Branch in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday held a press briefing to announce a series of events leading up to the 50th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam and National Reunification Day (April 30), as well as other major national holidays in 2025.

One of the most prominent events will be the photo exhibition titled ‘The Banking Sector's Contribution to the Development of Ho Chi Minh City,’ which will run from April 5 to 10 at Lam Son Park in District 1.

According to the event organizer, the exhibition will display a variety of historical documents and images showcasing the connection between banks and businesses, as well as the modernization of banking services aimed at better serving the local community.

The exhibition will also highlight the banking sector's social welfare activities, particularly its efforts to provide payment and money transfer services to residents of the city during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, bank employees and officials will take part in several trips aimed at educating the younger generation about the revolutionary history of Ho Chi Minh City.

They will also make visits to historical sites related to the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign and pay tribute at memorials dedicated to late President Ho Chi Minh.

As part of the celebrations for April, the historic month of national pride, the Ho Chi Minh City banking sector will kick off a sports competition on April 19.

The event is expected to feature some 1,300 participants, including bank officials and workers from 50 credit institutions and branches of the central bank.

The State Bank of Vietnam’s Region 2 Branch, in collaboration with the city's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, will conclude its 'Join Hands to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Housing' program on April 20.

Until now, as many as 25 credit institutions in the city have pledged to participate in the program, with a total financial commitment exceeding VND35 billion (US$1.4 million).

These activities are part of a broader series of events commemorating major milestones in 2025, including the 50th anniversary of Vietnam's reunification, the 75th anniversary of the founding of the State Bank of Vietnam, the 135th anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh’s birth, the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, and the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day on September 2.
