Gold prices soar to another record high

The price of goal soared to another record high of VND51.20 million (US$2,210) per tael (1.2 ounces) on the local market on Tuesday as prices slipped in the global market.

On Tuesday, Saigon Gold and Jewelry Company listed each tael of SJC gold at VND50.82 million for buying and VND51.20 million for selling, both up VND300,000 sides from a day before.

On the same day, Phu Quy Group and Doji Group rated its buying price at VND50.80 million with a sales price of VND51.05 million. Those prices were up VND200,000 from July 20.

Bao Tin Minh Chau Gold Firm in Ha Noi increased rates by VND150,000 per tael to VND50.92million to buy and VND51.12 million to sell compared to Monday’s rates.

After soaring to its highest since September 2011, global gold prices fell a bit to close at $1,818 per ounce ($2,190 per tael) on the gold exchange Kitco.
