Ministry increases fuel prices after global movements

The retail price of petrol has risen by 50 kip per litre while the diesel price has risen by 100 kip per litre, following an announcement from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce on October 12.

The ministry announced a reduction in the retail prices of diesel nationwide at the end of last month but the price increased again this week due to the change in global oil prices.

The latest petrol price became effective yesterday in Vientiane and the provinces.

Currently, petrol stations in Vientiane should sell premium grade petrol for 8,400 kip per litre, regular petrol for 7,400 kip per litre, up from 7,350 a litre; while diesel sells at 6,310 kip per litre up from 6,210 kip.

In Khammuan and Savannakhet provinces, premium petrol sells for 8,430 kip and regular petrol for 7,430 kip, while diesel sells for 6,340 kip.

In Champassak province prices should be 8,460 kip per litre for premium, 7,460 kip for regular, while diesel should sell for 6,370 kip.

In Saravan province they should sell premium petrol at 8,430 kip, regular petrol at 7,610 kip, and diesel at 6,520 kip per litre.

In Xekong, Attapeu and Xaysomboun provinces, premium petrol sells for 8,560 kip and regular petrol for 7,640 kip, and diesel for 6,550 kip per litre.

In Phongsaly province, premium petrol should sell for 8,400 kip per litre, regular petrol for 8,130 kip per litre and diesel for 7,040 kip per litre.

Meanwhile in Luang Namtha province premium petrol should retail for 8,400 kip per litre, regular for 7,760 kip and diesel for 6,670 kip per litre.

In Oudomxay province, prices should be 8,400 kip a litre for premium, 7,850 kip for regular and 6,760 kip for diesel.

In Bokeo province, premium petrol can be had for 8,500 kip per litre and regular petrol for 7,500 kip, while diesel sells for 6,410 kip per litre.

In Luang Prabang province, diesel sells for 6,770 kip per litre, while premium flows for 8,860 kip and regular petrol for 7,860 kip.

In Xayaboury and Huaphan provinces, diesel is selling for 6,710 kip per litre, while premium flows for 8,860 kip and regular costs 7,860 kip.

In Xieng Khuang province, premium petrol sells for 8,860 kip and regular petrol for 7,590 kip, while diesel sells for 6,400 kip per litre.

Petrol stations in Borikhamxay province sell diesel for 6,430 kip, premium petrol for 8,400 kip and regular for 7,520 kip.
