Vietravel to start Can Tho - Nha Trang flight

The Vietnam Travel and Marketing Transport Joint-stock Company (Vietravel) is set to begin Can Tho - Nha Trang charter flights on December 31.

It will operate ATR-72 aircraft chartered from the Viet Nam Air Service Company for the thrice-weekly service.

Truong Van Vinh, Vietravel's director for the south-western region, said surveys found an increasing demand among domestic and international tourists to visit the Mekong Delta as well as demand to travel among the delta's residents.

"Mekong Delta residents prefer destinations with mountains and beaches.

"Da Lat and Nha Trang are the two ideal destinations."

Besides, the number of visitors to Cam Ranh – whose airport serves – Nha Trang has increased rapidly, which means it is time to fly to more destinations from there, he added.

The flights, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, will leave Can Tho at 3:05pm, and Nha Trang at 5pm.

Vietravel will begin a similar tri-weekly service from Can Tho to Da Lat on December 20 after trials proved successful.

Besides, during Lunar New Year next February, Vietravel will revive the Can Tho-Bangkok charter service it had suspended in August.
