VN, Czech Republic pledge to boost ties

Viet Nam and the Czech Republic have vowed to boost comprehensive co-operation and make business, education, tourism and culture exchanges more convenient.

 

The assertion was made yesterday by Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung and President of the Senate of the Czech Republic Milan Stech during talks in Ha Noi.

The two parliamentary leaders also reached consensus on strengthening parliamentary relations and promised to support each other in multilateral and bilateral forums.

They also pledged to closely co-operate in the implementation of the 132nd International Parliamentary Union Assembly's declaration reached in Ha Noi as well as the fulfillment of the Millennium Goals.

Stressing Viet Nam as an attractive target of foreign investment with a variety of preferable conditions including a stable investment environment and human hospitality, NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung hoped Czech business enterprises would invest more actively in Viet Nam.

He confirmed the Government would create the most convenience for Czech investment projects to reach their effectiveness while being undertaken in the country.

Meanwhile, President of the Senate of the Czech Republic Milan Stech spoke highly on the remarkable achievement that Viet Nam has gained in socio-economic development, and said that was the foundation for the two sides to continue their effective co-operation especially in economics, trade and education.

The Czech parliamentary leader, who was on his first visit to Viet Nam, revealed that the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic, which had been recognised as one of its ethnic minorities, was very successful in business and education.

He said the second generation of Vietnamese people in the Czech Republic had gained outstanding achievement in study making good contributions to the national and European development.

This year marks the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and the Czech Republic.

During the visit, which will last until November 20, the Czech Senate leader is scheduled to pay courtesy visits and hold meetings with Vietnamese leaders.

He will also visit some places of historical, cultural interest and famous tourist attractions in Ha Noi, Quang Ninh, Da Nang and HCM City. The Czech Republic considers Viet Nam one of the 12 markets with the most potential. Two-way trade between the two countries doubled in the past five years to reach US$670 million in 2014.
