Lao, Vietnamese banks enhance cooperation

Nayoby Bank and Vietnamese Bank for Social Policies held a meeting last week to discuss future business cooperation and conclude agreements in this regard.

On the occasion, a memorandum of understanding was signed undertaking to promote future cooperation between the two state run banks from Laos and Vietnam.

The agreement aims to enhance cooperation between the two banks in a wide range of areas, in particular bank management, human resource development and addressing business risks.

The two banks will also share experiences on how to how to release credit, develop core banking, accounting and upgrade cooperation between their respective institutions.

Cooperation between both banks began in June 2010, aiming for their employees to develop their knowledge, skills and human resource capacities.

The two banks began cooperation by improving branch and service unit standards and services and providing training and skill development for personnel.

They have also installed new information technology systems to help them implement policies and funding mechanisms and supply loans to customers.
