Joint Development Bank opens service unit in Savannakhet

Joint Development Bank (JDB) officially opened a new service unit at Huameuang Tai village in Kaysone Phomvihane district of Savannakhet province on Friday, in response to continued economic expansion in the area.

The gala opening ceremony was attended by the Provincial Governor Dr Souphanh Keomixay and other high-ranking officials.

General Managing Director Mr Thongchaleun Khenmingmongkhon delivered a speech on the occasion, highlighting the significance of the service unit, which will benefit both local people and the economy of Savannakhet.

Savannakhet is among the big gest provinces in Laos in terms of land area and population. Importantly the province is now being connected with Thailand and Vietnam and the service unit aims to serve the business sector and visitors to the province.

Currently the Joint Development Bank has a total of nine units and is preparing to open four more early next year in the provinces of Xayaboury, Bokeo, Oudomxay and Luang Namtha.

During the opening ceremony in Savannakhet, the bank held a lucky prize draw for customers who deposited money with the bank, the prizes totalling 100 million kip and US$2,500.

The first prize went to Mr Phoungeun Insixiengmai, who took home 50 million kip. Ms Vansy won the second prize of 20 million kip, while the third prize winners Mr Phouxay xana Xaysombath, Mr Kieng-ou Sitthideth (two prizes) and Mr Phoutthasone Phavisouk each received 5 million kip.

In addition, Ms Sengdao Visalat, Mr Phetnunyhawono, Ms Thitdavan Phommachak, Mr Kieng-ou Sitthideth (two prizes), Ms Souksamone, Mr Somsak Phonphakdy, Ms Huiyu Zhou, Mr Phouxayxana Xaysombath and Ms Siheuan Hamountry secured prize money of one million kip.

The bank also gave credit prizes amounting to US$500 to five lucky customers, those being Mr Vongchay Sayakoumman, Nouphone Sihalath, Kongphan Thepphavong, Ms Souksaveuy Keopaseuth and Mr Nuanta Keomany.
