Saigon Treasure Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SACOMBANK) has been honoured in the Enterprises Posting Impressive Growth category at the 23rd Excellent Brands Awards, recognising the bank’s efforts to strengthen its brand and its notable development in 2026.

The Vietnam Economic Times launched the Excellent Brands Awards 23 years ago to honour Vietnamese businesses for growth, innovation, and community contributions.

Businesses are assessed on criteria including brand reputation and value, social responsibility, corporate culture, innovation, growth potential, and international integration.

In the first nine months of 2026, SACOMBANK made a series of changes to its brand positioning and resource allocation.

The bank adopted a new logo and commercial name, Saigon Treasure Commercial Joint Stock Bank, and relocated its headquarters to the core area of the Vietnam International Financial Centre in HCM City.

The move is intended to bring the bank closer to international financial standards and opportunities to participate in global financial value chains.

With its goal of becoming Việt Nam’s top retail bank, SACOMBANK has expanded its products and services portfolio to improve convenience and create greater value for customers.

Its SACOMBANK OPEN API allows third-party platforms to integrate with its services, enabling users to open accounts, apply for cards, and register for banking services directly through websites or apps they are using.

The bank has also introduced a Visa card acceptance solution that turns merchants’ smartphones into mobile POS devices, enabling contactless payments while reducing equipment costs for small businesses and individual entrepreneurs.

These initiatives have pushed SACOMBANK’s customer base past 20 million.

The bank has also linked business growth with community responsibility. It recently contributed VNĐ15 billion to the Humanitarian Month campaign and implemented social welfare and interest-rate support programmes in line with Government and State Bank of Vietnam policies.

SACOMBANK has worked with tax authorities to help household businesses and individual business owners register for and use e-invoices and meet new tax requirements.

Innovation for global reach

Sustainability has become another focus of SACOMBANK’s development strategy. Its Green Finance Package includes Green Deposits, the Visa O₂ credit card, and green lending solutions, giving customers options that take environmental considerations into account.

The bank has also expanded international payment connectivity through VIETQRGlobal. In 2026, it added connections with China, South Korea, and Singapore while maintaining two-way connectivity with Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos.

It has increased the number of locations accepting these payments in areas popular with international visitors, supporting tourism and cross-border commerce.

SACOMBANK ranked 336th among the world’s 500 most valuable banking brands in Brand Finance’s 2026 Banking 500 report, up 13 places from 2025. It is the seventh consecutive year the bank has appeared in the ranking.

The Enterprises Posting Impressive Growth 2026 award reflects SACOMBANK’s efforts to strengthen its capabilities, promote innovation, and pursue sustainable growth, providing a foundation for further development and greater value for customers and communities.
