9Pay Single Member Limited Liability Company has become the first payment intermediary to be admitted as a member of the Đà Nẵng International Financial Centre (IFC), marking a milestone in the development of Việt Nam’s emerging digital financial ecosystem.
The announcement was made at a conference chaired by Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính to officially unveil the establishment of the International Financial Centre in Việt Nam. At the event, the Đà Nẵng People’s Committee revealed the list of the first 10 organisations selected as members of the Đà Nẵng IFC, among which 9Pay was confirmed as the sole payment intermediary.
9Pay Single Member Limited Liability Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of 9Pay Joint Stock Company and is licensed by the State Bank of Vietnam to provide payment intermediary services under Licence No 60/GP-NHNN. Its early inclusion underscores the company’s role in applying modern technologies to help build digital financial infrastructure in Việt Nam.
As an IFC member focusing on monetary intermediation, including payment intermediary services, 9Pay aims to advance its vision of applying blockchain technology to optimise existing business-to-business services, particularly in collection and disbursement as well as cross-border remittances.
Its presence among the first group of IFC members is expected to contribute to linking domestic and international markets and fostering a more diversified financial ecosystem in Đà Nẵng.
9Pay has committed to strict compliance with anti-money laundering and risk management standards. At the same time, the company plans to research and deploy advanced payment solutions related to digital assets, digital payments and digital banking, targeting the needs of international e-wallets and global applications entering the Vietnamese market.
Nguyễn Quang Thịnh, director of 9Pay, said the company is confident it can actively support the Đà Nẵng IFC in researching and evaluating pioneering fintech models.
“With our experience and capacity in digital payments, 9Pay will contribute to building a foundation that enables IFC members to develop unique potential and competitive advantages,” he said.
He added that the initiative would help Việt Nam seize what the PM has described as a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity to become a convergence point for global capital flows, technology and talent.
