PM affirms enterprises’ vital role in driving national progress

Enterprises proposed that competent agencies soon submit to the Politburo a Resolution on the development of State-owned enterprises; further concretise the Politburo’s Resolution No. 68 on private-economic-sector development, including mechanisms for placing orders with private firms.

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính and representatives of the Vietnamese business community at the meeting in Hà Nội on October 9. — VNA/VNS PhotoHÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính on Thursday expressed his hope and confidence that Vietnamese enterprises and entrepreneurs will advance hand in hand with the nation’s development, while concluding a meeting with representatives of the business community on the occasion of Việt Nam Entrepreneurs’ Day (October 13).

At the meeting, business leaders and entrepreneurs thanked the Party, State, and Government for their continued attention and support, which have enabled their community to grow stronger. They expressed confidence and ambition to rise in the new era by enhancing competitiveness, accompanying the Government in driving national development, and taking the lead in digital transformation, innovation, and development of the green economy and knowledge-based economy.

Enterprises proposed that competent agencies soon submit to the Politburo a Resolution on the development of State-owned enterprises; further concretise the Politburo’s Resolution No. 68 on private-economic-sector development, including mechanisms for placing orders with private firms; and promptly address outstanding difficulties so that businesses can operate with confidence. They also called for a more enabling, service-oriented administrative system that better serve citizens and enterprises.

Responding to business recommendations, the PM affirmed the Government’s consistent commitment to integrity, innovation, and proactive governance, always serving the people and the business community.

The leader expressed his hope that Vietnamese enterprises and entrepreneurs will wholeheartedly follow the Party’s leadership; uphold the spirit of great national unity and international solidarity; join the entire nation in combining national strength with the power of the times for development; stand side by side with the people, remain steadfast on the path of national independence and socialism; and together with the people, build up the overall strength of the nation.

At the event, PM Chính and Deputy PMs presented numerous prestigious awards from the Party, State and Government to outstanding entrepreneurs and enterprises with remarkable achievements.

In the first nine months of 2025, more than 231,000 new and reactivated firms were recorded nationwide, a 26.4 per cent increase year on year. Total additional capital injected by operating businesses reached VNĐ3.3 quadrillion (US$125.25 billion), up 186.5 per cent. As of October 5, the country had approximately one million active enterprises.

Việt Nam's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) expanded by 7.84 per cent in the period. State budget revenue reached VNĐ1.92 quadrillion, equal to 97.9 per cent of the annual estimate, up 30.5 per cent from the same period last year. Total import-export turnover hit $680.66 billion, up 17.3 per cent, resulting in a trade surplus of $16.82 billion.
