TR, MBCC join forces to expand business participation in trust sector

The Trust Regulator (TR) and Malaysian Business Chamber in Cambodia (MBCC) Wednesday signed an MoU to raise awareness and participation in the trust sector, engaging entrepreneurs, business owners and investors to boost transparency.

The agreement to strengthen Cambodia’s trust sector was signed between Sok Dara, Director General of TR, and Tan Khee Meng, President of MBCC, in Phnom Penh on September 3.

According to a TR announcement, the MoU aims to enhance public understanding of trust practices and encourage engagement among MBCC members and partners, including business founders, owners, and entrepreneurs who play an active role in driving Cambodia’s economic development.

The initiative is also designed to promote broader participation in the trust sector, which underpins transparency, asset protection, and financial governance in business operations, the statement added.

The signing ceremony was attended by representatives from FSA regulatory bodies, TR officials, MBCC executives, trustee firms, retention and escrow operators, valuation companies, and auditing firms in Cambodia’s trust sector.
