Pickleball has seen explosive growth in Việt Nam since its introduction just over a year ago, with sales of related products skyrocketing on e-commerce platforms.

According to data platform Metric.vn, total sales of pickleball equipment reached nearly VNĐ511 billion (US$20 million) in the first half of 2025, representing a staggering nearly 13-fold increase from the same period last year and nearly double the full-year revenue of 2024 of VNĐ272 billion).

In the first quarter alone, pickleball-related items generated VNĐ229 billion in revenue – 19 times higher than in Q1 2024. A total of 2.4 million pickleball products were sold across platforms such as Shopee, TikTok Shop, Lazada and Tiki in just six months – a strong indication of the sport’s growing and sustained appeal among Vietnamese consumers.

The report noted that the majority of buyers gravitated towards products priced below VNĐ1 million. The price segment of VNĐ500,000–750,000 accounted for the largest share, generating VNĐ75 billion in sales. It was followed by the VNĐ200,000–350,000 segment with over VNĐ60 billion, and the VNĐ350,000–500,000 range.

Best-selling items included pickleball paddles and training shoes. This suggests that more players are willing to invest in core gear as they become more serious about the sport.

According to Metric.vn, the average selling price has not changed significantly compared to the previous year, meaning the impressive revenue growth was driven primarily by an expanding customer base. Moreover, pickleball has evolved beyond being just a sport — it is now associated with an active and modern lifestyle, which has further fuelled market expansion.
