Cambodia re-issues ban on imports from Thailand

The General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) of Cambodia has reissued a directive banning the import of certain products from Thailand.

According to the official notification circulated on July 16, the importation of vegetables, fruits, and fuel and gas (including gasoline, diesel, LPG, LNG, fuel oil, and Jet-A1) is strictly prohibited.

Other goods are not subject to the ban and may be imported under routine standard procedures.

However, GDCE emphasised that these imports must not pass through border checkpoints that have been unilaterally closed by Thailand.

The general department has called for cooperation and understanding from business operators and the public, adding that further updates will be issued as the situation evolves.
