Cambodia attracts 1.83 mln int’l tourists in Q1

The Ministry of Tourism said in a report on Friday that Cambodia welcomed 1.83 million international tourists in the first quarter of 2025, up from 1.58 million in the same period last year.

The report said Thailand still topped the chart among foreign tourist arrivals to the Southeast Asian country during the January-March period this year, followed by Vietnam and China.

The report said that some 501,666 Thais traveled to Cambodia, up 19.5 percent. It added that 304,634 Vietnamese and 286,156 Chinese visited the kingdom, up 1.8 percent and 50.6 percent, respectively.

According to the report, 42.9 percent of the total international tourists reached Cambodia by air, 55.3 percent by land, and 1.8 percent by waterways.

Tourism is one of four pillars supporting Cambodia’s economy, in addition to garment, footwear and travel goods export, agriculture, and construction and real estate.
