Cambodian Premier: Housing market shows resilient growth
Prime Minister Hun Manet announced that the housing market is experiencing a significant uptick, with current growth rates demonstrating greater resilience compared to previous periods.
Addressing the opening ceremony of the Cambodia Outlook Conference 2025, themed “Cambodia’s New Growth Strategy: Priorities for High Quality and Sustainable Development”, organised by the Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI) at the Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel & Residence yesterday, the Prime Minister highlighted the recovery of the real estate sector.
“Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal, Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, informed me that housing and real estate sales are on the rise again, although not at the same pace as before the COVID-19 pandemic,” said the premier.
This is a positive sign; […] the current growth reflects genuine, sustainable demand, affirmed the Premier.
The Cambodian economy continues its gradual recovery following the pandemic, with Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth projected at 5 percent in 2023 and 6 percent in 2024.
The manufacturing sector, particularly garment and non-garment industries, has nearly returned to pre-pandemic levels.
Additionally, agriculture and tourism are showing positive trends, with economic growth expected to exceed 6 percent in 2025.
