He also stressed that the Southeast Asian nation attaches great importance to Vietnam-U.S. cooperation in education, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges.

Vietnam always treasures its ties with the U.S., expecting to deepen bilateral cooperation to benefit the peoples and enterprises of both nations, Party chief Lam underlined.

He appreciated the impressive performance of the Vietnam-U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, significantly supported by both nations’ businesses, scholars, and people.

The Party leader suggested that Berggruen and Hang continue exploring new investment and research opportunities in Vietnam, and effectively implement cooperation agreements between Columbia University and Vietnamese universities.

He underscored that Vietnam is working to become a developing and upper-middle-income country by 2030, and a developed and high-income nation by 2045, as set by the 13th National Party Congress.

Therefore, Vietnam is persistent on its path toward building an independent and self-reliant economy, while embracing extensive global integration.

In addition, he highlighted the key role of science-technology, innovation, and high-quality human resources in enhancing national competitiveness and ensuring sustainable development.

Berggruen and Hang expressed their pleasure at Vietnam’s achievements and positive progress over the past few years in the Vietnam-U.S. relations.

They highly valued the vision of Vietnamese leaders and Party General Secretary Lam.

The guests were committed to actively throwing their support behind efforts toward strengthening the bilateral ties and pushing suitable investment opportunities, as well as helping Vietnam fulfill its goals.
