This initiative encourages manufacturing and retail companies to adopt innovative solutions and sustainable practices to optimize the use of resources, fuels, and raw materials while promoting the creation of green products. Consumers are encouraged to reduce waste by choosing biodegradable alternatives to plastic.
By fostering a circular economy, this campaign aims to promote sustainable development and reduce pollution throughout the city. The program features an impressive showcase of 30 booths with a variety of eco-friendly offerings, including reusable bags, recycled packaging, handicrafts, processed foods and household items.
This event serves as a platform for producers and businesses to showcase their eco-friendly products to local and international partners.
Key highlights of the program include the launch of the green consumption campaign, exhibitions of eco-conscious products from suppliers inside and outside the city, engaging workshops on sustainable cooperation between shopping malls, supermarkets, and eco-product suppliers, business networking opportunities; and collaboration to connect value chains in production and trade, all while ensuring social welfare.
At the opening ceremony of the event on September 6, Hoang Minh Lam, Director of the Hanoi Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting, emphasized that green consumption is a crucial element of the National Green Growth Strategy for 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
Alongside this event, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade will host a series of activities: “Sustainable Production and Consumption Cooperation Network in the Ceramics Industry” in Gia Lam District; “Sustainable Production and Consumption Cooperation Network in the Agricultural Processing Industry” in Ha Dong District; and “Sustainable Production and Consumption Cooperation Network in Traditional Craft Villages and OCOP Products” in Nam Tu Liem District.
These activities will provide a comprehensive view of the sustainable production and consumption network while enriching the city’s tourism offerings, ensuring a delightful experience for visitors to the capital.
