Export-import through Móng Cái int’l border gate grows 24 per cent

The total export-import turnover through the Móng Cái International Border Gate in the northern province of Quảng Ninh in the first eight months of 2024 reached US$2.64 million, marking a 24 per cent increase year-over-year, while 265 new businesses began operation in the area.

During the period, over 4.5 million people completed immigration procedures, up 97.5 per cent year-over-year. Móng Cái also saw a 62 per cent rise in tourist arrivals, totaling 2.76 million.

The city has proactively coordinated with relevant agencies to support and attract businesses, enhance administrative reforms, and ensure smooth customs and immigration processes.

Móng Cái officials regularly meet with their counterparts in Dongxing, China, to resolve issues, attract businesses, and promote border trade and tourism.

Efforts to combat smuggling and illegal border crossings remain effective, with local authorities maintaining strict oversight to prevent disruptions.

On September 3, Móng Cái started handling immigration for road transport between China’s Nanning and Việt Nam’s Hạ Long via Bắc Luân II Bridge. Customs authorities have streamlined procedures to assist businesses with quick and efficient clearance while ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
