6 Chinese auto models to enter Vietnam this week
The Vietnamese market will welcome six new car models from China’s Omoda, Jaecoo, BYD, and Lynk & Co automobile brands this week.

A representative from Chery Vietnam revealed that the Omoda E5 would be launched in Hanoi on Wednesday. Its prices might be announced at the event.

The Omoda E5, an electric car, had previously appeared at a test drive event in Hai Phong, a major port city in northern Vietnam.
The Omoda E5 measures 4,424 millimeters in length, 1,830 millimeters in width, and 1,588 millimeters in height. The wheelbase of the model is 2,630 millimeters.
The car weighs 1,785 kilograms.
With its 61-kWh battery, the Omoda E5 can travel for 430 kilometers.
Besides, it is capable of speeding up from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 7.6 seconds.
The Omoda E5 is equipped with a 360-degree camera, a head-up display, an advanced driver-assistance system, and two 12.3-inch screens.

The Jaecoo J7 will also make its first appearance in Vietnam alongside the Omoda E5 at the event on Wednesday.
Jaecoo and Omoda are the two marques of Chinese vehicle manufacturer Chery.
These cars will be distributed in the local market by Geleximco Group.
At an event previously held by Chery in China, the brand confirmed that the plug-in hybrid version of the Jaecoo J7 would be sold in Vietnam.
However, just its petrol-powered version has undergone a test drive in the Southeast Asian country.
The model is 4,500 millimeters long, 1,865 millimeters wide, and 1,680 millimeters tall.
The plug-in hybrid version is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine combining a dedicated hybrid transmission.
The J7 can travel for 98 kilometers on battery power, but it can run 1,200 kilometers in full hybrid mode.
The J7 is expected to compete with the Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Ford Territory, Honda CR-V, and Beijing X7 in Vietnam.
The interior of the J7 features a rectangular instrument panel, a 14.8-inch touchscreen, an advanced driver-assistance system, a wireless charging pad, 10 safety airbags, and acoustic glass.

Chinese EV manufacturer BYD will hold a test drive program for reporters in Ho Chi Minh City on June 15.
The brand is set to access the Vietnamese market with three electric models, including the Atto 3, Dolphin, and Seal.
The BYD Dolphin, a battery electric hatchback, is said to be similar to Toyota Yaris, while the Atto 3 has the same size as Toyota Corolla Cross.
Meanwhile, the Seal is listed in the same segment as Toyota Camry.
The BYD has a range of up to 700 kilometers on a single charge.
BYD told Vietnamese reporters at an event held in China in April that the brand would not open a public charging station system after debuting its EVs.

Lynk & Co 06, a subcompact crossover SUV manufactured by Chinese-Swedish automaker Lynk & Co, will make its debut in Vietnam on June 15.
The brand had previously introduced its Lynk & Co 01, 05, and 09 to the local market.
Lynk & Co 06 will be the smallest model of this brand in Vietnam.
A dealership in Ho Chi Minh City divulged that the Lynk & Co 06 might be priced at over VND700 million (US$27,550) each.
The model boasts an advanced driver-assistance system, a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 175 horsepower, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, and a sunroof.
