Hanoi’s Vietnamese Goods Week 2022 is aimed at stimulating consumer demand, supporting the economic recovery and promoting production after the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as bringing Vietnamese goods from various localities nationwide to people and tourists in the city.

The fair has a scale of more than 100 booths displaying consumer goods, products from craft villages and those in agricultural, forestry and fishery sectors safe and organic food ranked by the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program, specialties from localities, among other Vietnamese commodities.

Speaking at the opening launch of the fair on September 16, Nguyen Dinh Thang, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, said through the Vietnamese Goods Week program, local businesses have better opportunities to introduce brands, organize promotional activities, find customers, and stimulate consumer demand.

“Local consumers at the event will be able to purchase quality made-in-Vietnam goods," he said.

Delegates attend the opening launch.

Vietnam's industrial production index increased by 8.3% over the same period last year. Total revenue from retail sales and services was estimated at VND2.2 quadrillion (US$93 billion), up 19.2% over the same period last year. Revenue from commercial activities reached VND1.8 quadrillion ($76 billion), accounting for 81.3% of the total, up 16.1%.

In May, the city also hosted the second Vietnamese Goods Week 2022 with the theme “Vietnamese branded goods create a driving force for the country’s economy to develop sustainably” at Trinh Cong Son pedestrian street, Nhat Tan Ward, Tay Ho District.
