“GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam” festival to return to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City
GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam, one of the biggest annual German cultural festivals held in Vietnam, will return to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) after a 2-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam festival is co-hosted by the German Business Association (GBA), the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam), under the patronage of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Hanoi, and the German Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.

The first “GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam” was organized in 1992 by the German business community in Vietnam, under the patronage of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Hanoi, and the German Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. During the past 30 years, "GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam" has become the biggest beer festival in Southeast Asia, to bring the unique German cultural and traditional experiences closer to the Vietnamese people. It has been creating a special mark in the event calendar, welcoming more than 9,000 expats and locals in over six evenings of the festival in Hanoi and HCMC, which makes GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam the biggest in Southeast Asia.
The year of 2022 has marked a remarkable milestone as GBA Oktoberfest will be celebrating 30 years of its original, one of the most exciting German cultural festivals in Vietnam. In Hanoi, the event will take place at JW Marriott Hotel for four days, from September 29-October 2, from 6.pm to 11.pm. Especially, the “Family Day” will be held at GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam 2022 in Hanoi, on Sunday, October 2nd, from 4pm to 9pm, with the addition of fun activities for children and family such as ring toss, bowling, face painting, handmade craft, and of course soft drinks and juice for children. In Ho Chi Minh City, the event will take place at Nikko Saigon Hotel for three days (October 6th-8th), from 6pm to 11pm.
GBA Oktoberfest creates an authentic celebration of Bavarian culture, with a perfect reason for all attendees to discover the delights of Germany inside an original German beer tent (Festzelt in German), that can accommodate large groups with a capacity of up to 1,300 guests per evening. Joining the event, every guest can enjoy a buffet of premium German cuisine prepared by the Executive Chefs of the five-star hotel Nikko Saigon. Free-flow of premium imported German beer will be served in very own Oktoberfest beer mug. The amazing show band ‘Ozapft’, which is well-known for their outstanding performance and show-acts, will fly to Vietnam to attend the festival.
