Hanoi store changes name, logo resembling Apple
A yet-to-open store in Hanoi changed its name and logo last weekend after a request by multinational tech giant Apple.

The request was made because the name and logo of the story bore a marked resemblance to that of the tech giant.
The so-called "Apple Center" store on Hang Bai Street, which is yet to open, had not only used a similar logo on its name board, but also a font similar to that used by Apple Stores outside of Vietnam.
However, there is no "Apple Center" in Apple’s retail system. Apple currently sells its products through three main channels: the Apple Store and network carriers like Viettel or VinaPhone, and resellers.
The tech giant reportedly asked the store to change its logo and name before Friday, adding that only authorized retailers and people are allowed to use the logo for advertisement and sale purposes.
As of Wednesday, the store had apparently changed its name from "Apple Center" to "Capital Center."

This isn’t the first time Apple has requested retail stores in Vietnam to act on issues related to copyright infringements.
In 2017, the tech giant had informed several mobile retailers that they were committing copyright infringement by using its logo and brand names like App Store or Apple Store for advertisement. The retailers were also requested to stop selling officially distributed Apple products.
